Job summary

Raven Search in Liverpool seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator to build the estimating function from scratch and own the end-to-end process. You'll developing templates, manage take-offs, and shape pricing and tender submissions with the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Electrical estimating background in an M&E or electrical contracting environment.
• Experience leading tenders independently from enquiry through to submission.
• Ability to establish processes and systems from scratch.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership and initiative.
• Strong take-off, measurement and pricing skills.
• Existing knowledge of or a network within the North West M&E market is advantageous.
• Relevant electrical qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the electrical estimating function from the ground up, including setting processes, templates and standards.
• Preparing accurate, well-substantiated electrical estimates and tender submissions.
• Carrying out take-offs and measurement from drawings and specifications.
• Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to build a reliable, competitive supply chain from scratch.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and contributing to buildability discussions.
• Working directly with the founding leadership team on pricing strategy and commercial decisions.
• Reviewing contract terms and flagging commercial risk ahead of submission.
• Helping to establish the estimating function's reputation and standards as the business grows.

The Opportunity

This is a rare kind of estimating role: a ground-floor opportunity with a newly established M&E contractor in Liverpool. The business has just launched, and the Electrical Estimator joining now would be shaping how estimating works from day one rather than stepping into someone else's system. What makes this different to a typical start-up is the leadership behind it. The founding team brings decades of combined experience running major M&E contracts across the North West, with a strong track record and an established network in the regional market. You would be building something new, but backed by people who have done this at scale before. This suits an experienced electrical estimator who wants real ownership rather than a defined slice of a much larger function, and who is comfortable setting up processes and standards from scratch rather than inheriting them. Permanent, Liverpool, £65,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• A strong electrical estimating background within an M&E or electrical contracting environment
• Confident leading electrical tenders independently, from enquiry through to submission
• Comfortable establishing processes and systems from scratch, rather than working within an existing structure
• An entrepreneurial mindset, energised by being part of something new rather than needing established infrastructure around you
• Strong take-off, measurement and commercial pricing skills
• Existing knowledge of, or a network within, the North West M&E market is an advantage
• Relevant electrical qualifications
• Full UK driving licence
