Job summary

Emtec Building Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our pre-construction team across Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dundee. You’ll lead electrical estimates from enquiry to tender, liaising with the commercial and delivery teams to build competitive bids.

You'll review drawings and specs, produce take-offs and pricing schedules, and manage tender deadlines while identifying risks and opportunities to strengthen bids for a wide range of commercial and public sector projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical estimating for M&E/building services or construction.
• Strong understanding of electrical services, installations and construction methods.
• Confident reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Experience producing detailed estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
• Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors and reviewing quotations.
• Good commercial awareness with ability to identify risks and opportunities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tender deadlines.
• Experience using estimating software such as Trimble or similar.

Location: Glasgow (Uddingston), Edinburgh or Dundee

There’s a lot happening at Emtec Building Services right now. With new projects mobilising and a strong pipeline of secured work ahead, we’re continuing to strengthen our pre-construction team and are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join us.

This is a key role within the team, giving you the opportunity to get involved at the very early stages of projects and help shape how they come together commercially and technically.

You’ll take the lead on electrical estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with our pre-construction, commercial and delivery teams to put together competitive, well-considered bids and help turn opportunities into live projects.

Emtec Building Services delivers mechanical and electrical solutions across a wide range of commercial, industrial and public sector projects, supporting clients from early design and pre-construction right through to delivery and commissioning.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with strong electrical estimating experience who knows their way around building services projects and is comfortable managing tenders from start to finish.

You’ll bring:

• Previous experience in a Electrical Estimator role within M&E, building services or construction.

• A strong understanding of electrical services, installations and construction methods.
