Job Title: Electrical Estimating Engineer
Location: Northowram, Halifax
Salary: Circa £42,000 (DOE)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Benefits: 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays), company pension scheme (post-probation)

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established engineering business based in Northowram, Halifax, is seeking an Electrical Estimating Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator to take on a key role within a supportive and professional organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical projects.
  • Interpreting client specifications, drawings, and schedules (including WIMES).
  • Carrying out technical calculations using software such as Trimble/Amtech ProDesign.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and statutory regulations (IEE Wiring Regulations, CDM, COSHH, etc.).
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Managing workload effectively to meet tender deadlines.
  • Participating in site visits and project meetings as required.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator/Estimating Engineer.
  • Strong practical knowledge of materials, buildability, and client specifications.
  • Commercial awareness with experience in contracts, pricing, and project profitability.
  • Ability to work well within a team and communicate at all levels.
  • Familiarity with British and European standards and codes of practice.
