You'll be joining at an exciting time, supporting young apprentices through their training journey while using your own industry experience to help them build confidence, technical ability, and long‑term career skills.As an Electrical Engineering Instructor, you'll deliver in‑house training across a range of Electrical Engineering programmes. This will include classroom‑based teaching, practical workshop delivery, and assessment, covering everything from core electrical principles through to more advanced areas such as PLCs.The ideal candidate will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering and strong hands‑on industry experience. Teaching experience is not essential, as full training and development can be provided. What matters most is that you have the right technical foundation, a genuine passion for passing on knowledge, and the enthusiasm to move into a training environment.This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineering professional to transition into education, gain teaching and assessing qualifications, and make a lasting impact on apprentices entering the industry.
The role: Deliver in-house Electrical Engineering training to apprentices. Teach across classroom and workshop‑based environments. Cover topics from basic Electrical Engineering principles through to areas such as PLCs. Work with typical cohort sizes of around 12 learners. Deliver a varied mix of teaching, training, practical support, and assessment. Full‑time permanent position, 37.5 hours per week. Working hours of 8:00am - 4:15pm. Full training and development provided, including support towards SQA Assessor and Verifier Awards. Excellent package including pension, five weeks annual leave, paid Christmas closure, public holidays, and Sage HR benefits.
The person: Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering. Hands‑on Electrical Engineering experience highly desirable. Degree‑level or graduate candidates may also be considered with the right attitude and potential. Broad electrical knowledge would be beneficial. Teaching experience not essential. Assessor or verifier experience advantageous but not essential. Motivated by passing on knowledge and supporting apprentices. Willing to learn the training, assessment, and education side of the role. Strong team fit, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for developing learners.
