Job Description

KO2 are looking for a highly capable Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our talented team of Electrical and PLC Engineers, working on large-scale, high-power X-ray systems. Based full-time in Stoke-on-Trent site, you'll have real responsibility and the opportunity to shape innovative product solutions used around the world.

This isn't just another management role-it's an opportunity to work at the bleeding edge of industrial X-ray technology, overseeing the design of complex electrical systems and control panels. You'll manage a team of 7 engineers (5 UK-based, 2 in the US) across product lifecycles, from concept to continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage the electrical and PLC engineering team (7 engineers total).
  • Drive delivery across New Product Introduction, R&D, and ongoing product enhancement.
  • Allocate and oversee work assigned by dedicated project managers.
  • Review and sign-off complex electrical designs (EPlan-based).
  • Provide technical leadership with strong support from Principal Engineers (UK & US-based).
  • Hold regular 1-to-1s, mentor team members, and support career development.
  • Represent the electrical function in cross-functional engineering reviews.
  • Contribute to business strategy, market exploration, and continuous improvement.
  • Occasional travel to the US (up to 4x per year).

What You'll Bring:

  • Background in electrical/electronic engineering (BEng minimum, MSc preferred).
  • Strong experience in electrical design (EPlan essential), especially high-power and control circuits.
  • Experience in control panel design and supporting PLC systems.
  • Previous line management experience (min. 5 years) leading engineering teams.
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and challenge early-career engineers.
  • Solid understanding of CE, ANSI, UL, CSA directives and safety standards.
  • Design-for-manufacture and production engineering experience is a plus.
