Electronic Engineering Lecturer

Department: Electrical Engineering

Hours: 3 days a week
Salary: £30,000 - £44,000 (Pro Rata)

The Organisation

We are seeking an Assessor Qualified Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join a seasoned academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, supervising student projects, and supporting research and innovation in the field of electronic and electrical engineering. Depending on your career aspirations, there may be opportunities to transition into a permanent position in the long term.

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory classes in electronic engineering and related subjects.
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in line with academic standards.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Design and revise modules to meet industry needs and technological advancements.
  • Ensure alignment with national and international accreditation standards.
  • Engage in independent and collaborative research in electronic engineering.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
  • Seek research funding and develop partnerships with industry or government bodies.
  • Design and mark assessments, examinations, and practical work.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, student admissions, and academic advising.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and program review processes.
Essential Requirements
  • Must have an Assessors Qualification
  • A Master's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (Ph.D. preferred or in progress).
  • Applicants with strong HNC/HND-level teaching experience and significant industry background may also be considered.
  • Teaching experience in further or higher education is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge in areas such as analog/digital electronics, embedded systems, control systems, signal processing, or power electronics.
  • Evidence of research output, curriculum design, or industry-relevant project experience is an advantage.
  • Enhanced DBS - Dated within the last 12 months.
