Sappi Cloquet, established in 1898, produces high-quality graphic papers used in premium magazines, catalogs, books, direct mail, and high-end print advertising for the fashion, automotive, and travel industries, as well as specialty papers. Cloquet manufactures Verve, a dissolving pulp used for the textile and home goods markets. Energy-saving and clean water initiatives at Cloquet have won environmental recognition, aligning with the mill's commitment to sustainability.

Sappi, Cloquet Operations, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Electrical Engineering student for a paid, full-time co-op position in the Engineering Department. This nine-month co-op begins in January 2026.

The co-op engineer will collaborate with Electrical Engineers on tasks within the mill. The role includes:

  • Initial training in CAD drafting, document management, and safety procedures
  • Providing layout and detailed drawings for Electrical, Instrumentation, and general engineering design
  • Supporting document management activities such as distribution, filing, and maintenance of drawings and documents
  • Completing all required safety training
  • Working with an assigned Engineer on projects to improve production efficiency
  • Assisting with special projects and presentations as needed

**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:**

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, Project, FrontPage, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Inventor is desirable
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good organizational, planning, and coordination abilities
  • Creativity in documenting and presenting information through drawings, images, and text
