Job Description

Start here. Grow here.

Are you ready to shape the future of water infrastructure?

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Water Solutions team as we help deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious and long-term water infrastructure programmes. Roles are available across several key locations, offering you the opportunity to support multi-billion-pound capital delivery frameworks and contribute to high-impact water and wastewater projects spanning infrastructure and non-infrastructure sectors across AMP8 and AMP9.

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from small rural upgrades to complex, multi-million-pound schemes. You’ll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners, including Tier 1 contractors and water utility clients. This is a long-term, secure opportunity to grow your career and contribute to the UK’s water resilience and sustainability efforts.

Key Programmes You’ll Support:

South West Water & Wessex Water (£8bn AMP8 & AMP9 Investment):

  • South West Water – Framework for Engineering Consultancy Services Lot 3 – Multi-Discipline Engineering Design
  • Wessex Water – Capital Delivery Partner Framework Agreement Lot 2 – Design Consultants

Severn Trent Water (£14.9bn AMP8 Delivery Plan):

  • Lot 1 Major Projects Framework – Large-scale water and wastewater projects
  • Severn Trent D&B Projects – Supporting Tier 1 contractors on major non-infrastructure wastewater schemes

Southern Water (£3.7bn Capital Delivery Programme):

  • Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) Frameworks:
  • Lot 1 – Non-infrastructure water projects
  • Lot 2 – Non-infrastructure wastewater projects
  • Low Complexity Delivery Route Lot 2 (Wastewater Infrastructure)
  • SDP Lot 3 Infrastructure Framework – Delivering sustainable wastewater infrastructure in partnership with Tier 1 contractors

In this role, you will visit client sites, collaborate across multi-year frameworks, and take on projects from inception to delivery, creating innovative solutions that benefit the environment and communities.

Here’s what you'll do:

  • Electrical and ICA Design: Design electrical and ICA components in wastewater and water infrastructure, including chemical dosing, pumping stations, and sludge treatment units, from conception to handover.
  • High-Quality Deliverables: Produce client deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and technical reports adhering to standards and procedures.
  • Site Surveys: Conduct non-intrusive site surveys and data collection exercises.
  • Project Management: Assist in preparing project budgets and programmes.

If you’re passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes your application. Join us to help construct infrastructure that uplifts communities and enhances lives. Follow our AECOM Water page on LinkedIn to stay updated on our impactful projects.

Be part of our UK & Ireland Water business, home to around 700 experts, including 170 specialists in England & Wales.
