Position Overview

We seek an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) team within the Reliability Solutions Department (RSD). RSD provides engineering support to Saudi Aramco’s facilities in refining, NGL processing, and petrochemicals, focusing on reliability, inspection, corrosion management, static and rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain lifecycle management programs and databases for critical electrical equipment.
  • Manage and maintain the corporate arc flash hazard mitigation program, including conducting audits.
  • Lead failure investigations, share outcomes, and implement lessons learned across facilities.
  • Develop and manage centralized service contracts for critical electrical assets such as UPS, ATS, batteries, and MV cables testing.
  • Monitor electrical system performance, lead technical programs, studies, and assessments.
  • Organize and lead technical exchange sessions with other facilities.
  • Ensure electrical safety, arc flash hazard mitigation, hazardous area classification, power generation, distribution, protection, motors, controls, and industry standards compliance (NEC, IEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, API).
  • Develop plans and processes to ensure lifecycle safety, environmental, and economic risks are minimized while maintaining compliance with all relevant standards.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15 years of experience managing electrical systems in the oil and gas industry; 20 years preferred, especially in downstream refining, NGL, and petrochemicals.
  • Experience with power system studies using modeling tools.
  • Ability to conduct health and condition assessments on critical assets such as switchgear, control gear, motors, transformers, and DC systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical maintenance and troubleshooting practices for industrial systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (NEC, IEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, API).
  • Experience with specifications, application, and maintenance of electrical equipment up to 15kV.
  • Knowledge of power systems analysis, power distribution, protection, and automation (preferred).
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
