General Description of the Job (tasks, duties, roles, expectations):

Independently performs Electrical Engineering activities across all phases of electrical development and equipment design for projects of moderate size and complexity. Must be fully competent in conventional electrical engineering practices, applying independent judgment for evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard design criteria, methods, and procedures. Assignments involve investigating multiple variables, with periodic review of work by less experienced engineers.

  • Perform layout, analysis, and design of electrical engineering scope for industrial projects.
  • Design and develop electrical documentation including:
    • Electrical Equipment Specifications
    • Electrical Plan Drawings (Power, Lighting, Grounding, etc.)
    • Electrical Schematics (Single line diagrams, Motor Schematics, Interconnection diagrams, etc.)
    • Design Calculations
  • Work with core design basis documentation (e.g., P&IDs, General Arrangements, Equipment List).
  • Lead small teams of designers and junior engineers.
  • Perform quality checks on electrical engineering work performed by others.
  • Resolve technical design conflicts.
  • Utilize computer software and automated engineering tools effectively, including:
    • AutoCAD
    • MS Excel
    • MS Word
    • SKM/ETAP Power System Analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • EIT certification; PE certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years industrial and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Plant engineering experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Code and 600V power distribution systems.
  • Understanding of plant infrastructure and equipment installation design.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Please note: Onsite means the position is not currently remote, but does not necessarily require being on a job site.
