Qualifications

  • Contributing to the development of a preventative maintenance program.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work as part of a flexible team providing technical and engineering support to ensure efficient site operations. Your responsibilities include identifying areas for engineering improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety while maintaining legislative compliance.

You will work closely with automation equipment from European suppliers, developing knowledge to engage with machinery and equipment effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring production downtime is minimized by completing planned and preventative maintenance on equipment such as Siemens PLC systems, conveyor systems, boilers, depositors, packing systems, robotic tray sealing machines, jet printers, etc.
  • Managing reactive maintenance and responding promptly to breakdowns.
  • Performing daily strip-downs and rebuilds of machinery after cleaning.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and maintaining company and customer technical standards.
  • Contributing to the development of a preventative maintenance program.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements.
  • Training and mentoring team members as the team evolves.

The Package

Based at our client's new manufacturing facility on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, benefits include:

  • Permanent full-time contract with initial 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.
  • Starting salary between £44,000 and £48,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Higher salaries may be considered for candidates with extensive relevant experience.
  • Paid overtime where available.
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with time off in lieu for bank holiday work.

About You

  • Proven experience in planned and preventative maintenance, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC systems and automated robotics machinery.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of PPM systems in an FMCG context.
  • Minimum qualification of BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
  • Proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach to work.
