Job summary

SLB invites applications for an Electrical Engineer Intern (12 months) position starting Summer 2027 at Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, UK. You will gain hands-on experience with Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Rotary Steerable System (RSS) technologies.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—electrical, software, and mechanical engineers—to develop electronic boards, advanced test systems, and industry-ready hardware for downhole tools.

Qualifications

Studying towards a Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
Experience with test instruments (oscilloscope, power supply, multimeter, etc).
Exposure to simulation software such as PSPICE/LTSpice/TiNA.
Soldering and basic circuit testing skills.
Team oriented with strong service and quality focus.
Nice to have MATLAB/Octave/LabVIEW experience.

Responsibilities

Develop and test electronic boards, tools and hardware for downhole use.
Collaborate with electrical, software and mechanical engineers across disciplines.
Contribute to design reviews, prototyping, qualification testing and documentation.
Plan technical changes, perform rigorous testing and validate designs.
Assist in preparing functional specifications and design concepts.
