Job summary
Hunter Selection is seeking an Electrical Engineer in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, offering a salary around £40,000 with overtime. The role covers testing, wiring and installation of industrial machinery for food processing equipment.
Key tasks include building and testing machines, wiring systems, and fault finding. NVQ Level 3+ and 18th Edition are preferred, with PLC/HMI experience advantageous. Monday–Friday days, with overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- 18th Edition qualification.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring documentation.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors and motors.
- Background in food machinery is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Electrical building & testing of industrial machinery.
- Machine wiring and functional testing.
- Wire & connect electrical systems on machinery (motors, sensors, actuators, interconnectors).
- Carry out functional testing and basic fault finding prior to commissioning.
- Assist in verifying PLC/HMI signal paths before software upload.
- Read and work from electrical schematics and layout drawings.
- Support additional factory installation tasks when needed.
