What We Offer

This position supports manufacturing processes at the Covestro South Deerfield Site, focusing on electrical projects to ensure safe, responsible, and efficient production of Thermoplastic Polyurethane and Polycarbonate films.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Promote an incident-free workplace culture. Manage electrical safety projects and lead safety teams. Investigate and propose solutions for electrical safety concerns. Handle Management of Change activities for complex process and project activities.
  2. Lead complex electrical/control projects, especially large-scale initiatives. Provide electrical engineering support for capital and process improvement projects. Be fluent with industrial electrical standards and the site's electrical systems. Perform detailed calculations to develop designs, specifications, and standards.
  3. Support production and maintenance teams in a 24/7 environment. Use root cause analysis to troubleshoot electrical issues and lead structured problem-solving activities.
  4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical engineering. Identify opportunities for site enhancements and lead related teams.
  5. Collaborate with Process and Quality Engineering to develop and implement electrical projects. Support troubleshooting during equipment start-up. Update Standard Operating Procedures and conduct operator training for electrical activities.
  6. Apply understanding of business drivers to identify and develop electrical project opportunities at the site.

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) with at least 3 years of experience.
  2. Over 6 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Professional registrations and certifications are desirable.
  2. Experience with thermoplastic film extrusion and web handling.
  3. Knowledge of CAD, project management, and SAP is desirable.

  2. Active listening skills; ability to communicate openly and provide relevant feedback.
