Job summary

Hoare Lea in Oxford is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to lead high-quality, sustainable electrical design across building services projects. The role focuses on client engagement, project delivery and multi-disciplinary collaboration within our Oxford team.

You will manage briefs, coordinate teams, ensure regulatory compliance and drive business development while mentoring junior staff and contributing to local practice growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status for Senior Associate; desirable/working towards for Associate.
• Extensive project and client leadership experience.
• Strong technical competence in electrical building services and design guides.
• Ability to lead integrated design teams across disciplines.
• Excellent client-facing communication and relationship skills.
• Demonstrable commercial awareness and risk management.
• Proven people leadership and team development.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact; define briefs and represent Hoare Lea at meetings.
• Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities and client objectives.
• Lead and coordinate project teams; prioritise workloads and chair internal meetings.
• Deliver profitable, high-quality schemes; monitor costs and resource needs.
• Delegate, review, and mentor junior staff; support performance objectives.
• Maintain awareness of appointments, procurement routes and commercial risks.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and ensure standards compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
