Job summary

Searchability is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a hands-on role at Culham Science Centre, focusing on hardware delivery and AI tooling development. You will contribute to real client projects while shaping the company’s AI engineering platform.

The position balances practical electrical work with designing and reviewing schemes, and requires a flexible, cross-disciplinary mindset within a small team.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience in custom machinery or LV distribution in complex buildings.
• Machinery Directive and EN 60204-1 knowledge for machinery route and cabinet design.
• BS 7671 knowledge for LV distribution downstream of the transformer.
• Real hardware delivery experience, from design to site.
• Some coding ability or willingness to learn; Python is acceptable.
• Broad, cross-disciplinary capability across electrical and controls.
• Curious, energetic and comfortable in a fast-moving small team.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design for custom machinery or complex facilities.
• Create schematics, calculations, cabinet and panel designs, LV distribution.
• Review designs, not just produce them.
• Contribute to the AI platform tooling with engineering judgment.
• Work directly with clients on delivery, not via account managers.
• Collaborate across electrical and controls boundaries.
