Role: Electrical Engineer

Our client, a leading international manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their Birmingham site during a period of significant growth.

Responsibilities include:

1. Adhering to all safety regulations at all times.
2. Performing routine preventative maintenance checks daily.
3. Collaborating with Production Team Leaders, Shift Technicians, and Operators, and reporting findings to your Departmental Team Leader.
4. Taking responsibility for specific areas to understand their operation, maintenance needs, and safety procedures.
5. Ensuring all tasks are documented with work orders, risk assessments, etc.
6. Completing planned and unplanned maintenance promptly.
7. Acting as a communication point during maintenance activities.
8. Participating in projects to improve, extend, or modify equipment for better efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Qualifications and skills required:

• HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering (Essential)
• Experience in heavy industry and understanding of 3-phase control systems
• PLC fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of isolation procedures
• Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with continuous improvement techniques
• Attention to detail with problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to self-organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
