Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer – London – £33.83/hour (Umbrella)

A London Local Authority is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join on an interim basis to support the delivery of a large-scale Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Reporting (EICR) programme. This contract role is integral to ensuring electrical compliance and safety standards are met across a diverse housing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee external electrical contractors undertaking EICRs, remedial works, and domestic fire alarm installations and servicing.
- Review Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), identify remedial requirements, and agree scopes of work to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Ensure accurate certification and reporting of completed works, including BS7671 compliance.
- Produce detailed reports for progress meetings and stakeholder updates.
- Conduct site visits to assess quality of works, agree on-site actions, and maintain compliance standards.
- Liaise with internal teams, residents, and contractors to deliver high-quality service in a social housing context.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

- Proven experience overseeing electrical works and managing contractors, ideally within a social housing environment.
- Familiarity with Domestic Fire Alarm systems and related certification.
- Strong reporting skills with ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Recognised qualifications including:
Full UK Driving Licence required.
