Roles and Responsibilities

1. Accountable for the delivery of daily electrical maintenance activities.
2. Ensure Engineering Team Leaders and craftsmen have clear targets and achieve them.
3. Use Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing tools such as SPC, FMEAs, 5S, and Lean Sigma to drive improvements.
4. Identify training needs and deliver training plans.
5. Improve equipment availability quarter on quarter to meet or exceed throughput targets.
6. Develop and monitor cost-effective plant maintenance strategies.
7. Improve engineering practices for equipment performance monitoring.
8. Provide technical expertise for unplanned failures, outside of normal hours if needed.
9. Lead operational shutdowns for major maintenance and improvements.

Requirements

• Degree level qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in a similar role within a unionised environment.
• Knowledge of HV Distribution, AC/DC drives, PLCs, and SCADA.
• Engineering design capability, preferably with CAD.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Knowledge of 'Lean' techniques and a strong mindset for continuous improvement is advantageous.
