Job Purpose

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to carry out installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems. The role includes wiring and fault-finding for central heating control systems, door entry systems, and warden call systems. You will be responsible for ensuring all work is completed professionally, safely, and in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install, test, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, ensuring a high-quality finish.

Carry out fault-finding and wiring for central heating control systems, door entry systems, and warden call systems.

Attend to breakdowns and urgent repairs, including participation in a call-out rota.

Order parts and manage job schedules to ensure swift resolution of issues.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, company procedures, and health & safety regulations.

Use a hand-held device to log job details and updates.

Engage with residents and clients, keeping them informed about work progress.

Ensure PPE and equipment are in good working condition.

Maintain calibrated tools and testing equipment as per industry requirements.

Report variations in work and update the administration team on any site changes.

Work closely with other engineers, plumbing teams, and building teams to coordinate installations.

Produce certificates, job sheets, reports, and other documentation for completed works.

Submit timesheets, delivery notes, expenses, and required paperwork weekly.

Attend staff briefings and company meetings as required.

Skills & Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18).

C&G 2391 (or 2394/2395) Inspection & Testing.

Experience or transferable skills in door entry and warden call systems is a distinct advantage.

Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills.

Punctuality, professionalism, and flexibility.

Working knowledge of mobile PDA systems.

Desirable Qualifications

Gold ECS NVQ Level 3 card.

C&G 2391/2395 & 2394 (Inspection & Testing).

Experience Required

Previous experience in Social Housing installation and maintenance projects.

Direct experience working with residents and clients is an advantage.

Experience in wiring domestic heating systems or a willingness to adapt and learn.

Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to pass a DBS check.
