We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in professional electrical engineering to contribute to testing programmes in a safe and cost-effective manner. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include designing, planning, and implementing projects, maintaining a safe environment, investigating electrical issues, and performing some mechanical works.

You will assist in leading maintenance activities for electrical infrastructure, plant, communications, and instrumentation systems, implementing safety procedures. Additionally, you will conduct surveys and inspections, and prepare bills of material and cost estimates.

Qualifications required include a minimum of HNC / HND in electrical/electronic disciplines or equivalent, or significant relevant experience. Knowledge of HV and LV systems, protection, communications, planned maintenance, electrical services, and health and safety legislation is essential.

Effective communication skills are necessary to interact with colleagues and external organizations. The role requires teamwork in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. The position is based at the PNDC facility in the University’s Advanced Net Zero Innovation Centre (ANZIC), with potential support for the Cumbernauld facility.

Training will be provided to obtain LV authorization, with opportunities to work towards HV authorization in the future.
