Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to work at NHS Rampton. Your responsibilities will include carrying out electrical safety checks, PAT testing, planned and call-out maintenance, and repairs.

You must adhere to high standards of health and safety, understand and comply with building statutory requirements, and ensure regular monitoring and inspection procedures are conducted for all equipment as part of the preventative maintenance programme.

The ideal candidate will have a full, current driving licence, be IT literate for record-keeping, possess good customer service skills, and be physically capable of performing the duties outlined in the job description.

Qualifications should include a background in facilities or mobile maintenance within the construction sector or similar, with Level 2/3 City and Guilds 2330 or NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation and 18th edition certification.

Job Objectives and Responsibilities

1. Maintain engineering services on the resident contract at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
2. Identify and implement additional works upon authorisation.
3. Adhere to the company health and safety policy at all times.
4. Comply with the Mitie maintenance quality management system relevant to this position.
5. Assume the role of Competent Person once suitably qualified and appointed.

Main Duties

1. Perform planned preventative maintenance, repairs, reactive, and RAW works.
2. Work at other sites within the portfolio as required.
3. Operate on a 7-day shift rotation covering days and lates.
4. Complete work sheets and obtain client approval.
5. Attend call-outs and breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs or advise accordingly.
6. Conduct emergency light testing, fire alarm testing, and periodic electrical testing.
7. Run site generator checks as needed.
8. Be available for works outside normal hours with additional pay.
9. Participate in on-call rotas if required, with additional remuneration.
10. Submit weekly timesheets and maintain accurate records.
11. Perform ID checks, including driver’s license and DBS checks.
