Job Title: Multi-skilled Shift Engineer – Electrical Bias
Salary: Up to £43,000
Location: Data Centre, Peterborough
Employment Type: Full-time, Shift-based

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Multi-skilled Shift Engineer – Electrical Bias to join our team within a Data Centre environment. This role involves providing multi-skilled maintenance services across electrical and mechanical disciplines, ensuring both reactive and proactive maintenance to operational equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining reliability, efficiency, and safety in line with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and calibration of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation plant systems.
  • Carry out modifications and installations as required.
  • Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Liaise with contractors and external suppliers when necessary.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and produce timely reports.
  • Maintain high standards of work in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report deficiencies that may impact service delivery, health and safety, or environmental risks.
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely and diligently, both personally and for any supervised personnel.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Essential:
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Strong knowledge of building statutory compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly Desirable:
  • Experience with critical equipment such as UPS and Standby Generator Systems.
  • High Voltage (HV) / Low Voltage (LV) Appointed Persons certification.
