Job summary

Crown House Technologies, part of the Laing O''Rourke Group, is delivering the Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford Campus. We seek an Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical delivery on a highly regulated life sciences facility, from design through to handover, with strong focus on safety and collaboration.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with project managers, planners, subs and design teams, and drive innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment with long-term career

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
  • Experience delivering electrical engineering on large-scale projects.
  • Experience in regulated sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering delivery from design through handover.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project managers, planners, subs, and design teams.
  • Review complex designs to ensure regulatory and client compliance.
  • Drive safety culture and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Identify innovative engineering solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support project close-out, including QA and handover documentation.

Crown House Technologies are currently delivering the full MEP scope for the Ellison Institute of Technology's Oxford Campus – a world‑class facility combining over 30,000m² of research laboratories, an oncology and wellness clinic, and collaborative spaces focused on solving humanity's most pressing challenges.

We're now looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join the delivery team. This role offers a unique chance to apply your technical expertise on a highly innovative and technically demanding life sciences facility.

What you'll be doing:
  • Leading the Electrical engineering delivery activities, providing technical oversight from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Managing and mentoring junior engineers and coordinating closely with project managers, planners, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Reviewing complex mechanical designs and specifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
  • Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring all electrical works complywith health and safety legislation and company standards.
  • Identifying and implementing innovative engineering solutions, best practices, and continuous improvements.
  • Supporting project close‑out processes, including quality assurance and documentation handover.
What we're looking for:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline, with substantial experience in Electrical engineering delivery on large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience working on highly regulated sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, or high‑tech manufacturing projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Electrical systems, installation methods, and commissioning best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive and solutions‑oriented approach, comfortable working in a fast‑paced, technically demanding environment.
