Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) is a design and build business delivering water sector projects in the UK. The Electrical Engineer will contribute to projects that impact the environment and communities, working across feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning stages to maintain water flow and wastewater treatment.

You will prepare electrical designs for water treatment equipment on client sites, driving standards across motor control centres, LV distribution and control systems, while

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare electrical engineering designs for water treatment equipment on client sites, with experience of Motor Control Centres, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA.
  • Apply design standards including client and WIMES standards and applicable legislation.
  • Coordinate with the multidisciplinary design team to complete designs to the brief, on programme and within budget.
  • Produce technical specifications and procurement schedules; review supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
  • Produce the URS for control systems; review supplier FDS and participate in factory acceptance tests.
  • Review and understand existing installed systems to be interfaced to from site visits, drawings and reports.
  • Engage with the client, manage relationships and support them in achieving their aims.
