Job summary

Arup’s Building Engineering Services team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to tackle technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects in Leeds. You will join a collaborative group of engineers and technicians delivering multidisciplinary building services designs.

You will support graduates, contribute across feasibility to completion, and engage in BIM workflows using Revit while pursuing Chartered status and ongoing professional development at Arup.

We have opportunity for a Electrical Engineer looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects, to join our established Building Engineering team. Arup’s Building Engineering Services team are currently working on a wide range of projects, The Leeds Building Engineering Services team work on a wide range of projects, including:

• Healthcare Projects – including Leeds Teaching Hospitals
• Leeds Existing Station Programme and other major transport projects
• Modular Buildings
• Local Aviation Projects
• Advanced Manufacturing Hubs – including Siemens Mobility Goole

As an Electrical Services Engineer you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering Team, working on multidisciplinary projects while being responsible for the output of graduate Electrical Services engineers and technicians. You will be part of a collaborative team of over 25 engineers and technicians in the Leeds office and a wider 200+ engineers and technicians within the North region.

Key responsibilities:

Apply your engineering expertise to shape our projects. Work in an interdisciplinary environment and aim to design buildings that maximise value for our clients whilst minimising their environmental impact. Play an active role in all stages of our projects from feasibility through to completion across a number of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, energy, sport, health and mixed-use developments. Play a part in the ever-increasing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking to speak to people who:

• Working towards Chartered status through CIBSE, IET or other relevant body and degree qualified with a Masters Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Experience in the Electrical Services Engineering design on a range of project types
• Strong design and technical skills
• Enjoys working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams, contributing to projects from inception to completion.
  
• Good planning and organisation skills
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and starting to develop working relationships with external team members
• Committed to their own professional development and looking for challenging work to develop their engineering skill.
• A passion for design and an enthusiasm for architecture and sustainable building design.
• Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude and experience in design analysis software.Experience of working within a BIM environment using Revit beneficial.
• Assists in training and developing younger engineers and technicians
