Project Scope
The Zuluf AM Onshore GOSP Upgrade Project aims to expand and retrofit existing onshore facilities to directly receive and process wild crude from offshore platforms, supporting a Maximum Sustainable Capacity (MSC) of 800 MBCD. The scope involves installation of new HPPTs, Compressor Trains, TEG Dehydration Systems, DPCUs, Liquid Coalescers, and expansion of electrical and non-electrical utilities.
Job Purpose
The Electrical Engineer ensures that the contractor’s work is compliant with:
Project Scope of Work
Applicable Saudi Aramco and international engineering standards
Required design quality, equipment selection, and procurement schedule
Operational and maintenance optimization
Key Responsibilities
Review design packages: drawings, datasheets, BOMs, cost estimates, load lists, and hazardous area classification.
Prepare technical specifications and the Project Design Basis Document.
Review and analyze major electrical equipment including transformers, motors, generators, HV/LV switchgear, MCC, and control systems.
Ensure full alignment with Aramco design standards (SAES, SAMSS) and other international codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE).
Coordinate with project managers and EPC contractors during FEED and detailed design.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and technical reviews.
Manage technical bid evaluations (TBE), material requisitions (MR), and change order assessments.
Monitor contractor performance and conduct QA/QC of electrical deliverables.
Provide technical assurance and oversight during engineering, procurement, and construction.
Lead or support procurement, site queries, construction readiness, and commissioning efforts.
Requirements
Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Chartered or certified engineer (preferred).
Experience
10–15 years of experience in electrical engineering for large-scale oil & gas or industrial projects.
Minimum 3 years of recent Saudi Aramco project experience (preferred).
Strong understanding of power system design, distribution, control systems, and automation.
Software & Technical Skills
Proficient in ETAP or similar electrical system analysis tools.
Strong MS Office proficiency.
Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, PLC, and PSA systems.
Standards & Codes
In-depth knowledge of NEC, IEC, IEEE/ANSI, and international engineering standards.
Language
Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
