Electrical Engineer - Project Role (Edinburgh Area)

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a career move away from the tools? This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-end, critical site just outside Edinburgh, working in a permanent role focused on project delivery and subcontractor management.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical systems and project delivery. This role will see you responsible for overseeing a variety of small works projects (typically under £100k), ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Unlike a traditional engineering role, this is not hands-on; you will primarily be office-based, managing and supervising subcontractors, writing and controlling permits, and acting as the on-site custodian to maintain compliance and safety standards. A resilient, assertive personality is key, as you will be responsible for challenging contractors and ensuring quality is upheld across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate subcontractors delivering small works projects across the site.
• Manage permits, isolations, and safe systems of work.
• Supervise project activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
• Take ownership of project completion within cost and time parameters.
• Act as the link between engineering teams and contractors, ensuring smooth delivery.
