Job summary

Veolia is seeking a field-based maintenance professional for nationwide coverage across the Southern Region. You will carry out scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and keep risk assessments and site documentation up to date.

The role requires familiarity with EWI/SOP, Veolia EHS rules, and a willingness to travel to multiple sewage treatment sites, including overnight stays when needed.

Qualifications

• Understanding of pumps, HVAC systems, compressors, boilers, steam systems and ancillary services.
• Understanding SOPs and GMP engineering systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and P&ID diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work as per schedule provided by the Services Manager or Supervisor and site procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems as directed by site supervisors.
• Update maintenance task lists and site documentation as appropriate.
• Carry out periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to keep documents current and valid.
• Work on site following Veolia EHS rules and guidelines, including travel to multiple sewage treatment sites.
• Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota and stay away from home as required.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager or Supervisor and as per site policies, schedules and procedures.


• Troubleshoot problems with equipment as necessary, and as directed by site supervisors.


• Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task Lists and ensure these are always kept valid.


• Update maintenance task list and site documentation as appropriate.


• Carry out Periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.


• All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.


• Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings, work around Maintenance Shutdowns and be familiar with GMP rules and Statutory requirements.


• Participate in Audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions.


• Ensure that the CMMS system contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance man-hours.


• This is a field-based role with nationwide coverage, requiring travel across multiple sites, with the majority of work being carried out on sewage treatment sites.


• Be prepared to stay away from home when required to support operational needs.


• Participate in a periodic call-out rota providing 24/7 coverage for one week at a time.

What we're looking for

• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation (2365) or equivalent NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing certification (current and valid)


• 18th Edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations certification


• Understanding of Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems.


• Ability to read and understand P&ID’s/electrical drawings


• Understanding of SOP’s and GMP Engineering systems.
