Electrical Electronics Design Engineer

Poole, Dorset

Salary: £55,000-60,000 guideline + pension

Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Daytime, Monday to Friday, with an earlier finish on Fridays

About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical and Electronics Design Engineer to join a small, friendly mechatronics engineering design and manufacturing business with unique products. In this role, you will collaborate within a team, focusing on electrical and electronics design, discussing ideas and drawings with colleagues in engineering and manufacturing. The products include mechatronic assemblies, electrical layouts, and electronics systems for special-purpose equipment.

This position emphasizes the design aspects of electrical and electronic systems within engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop electrical and electronic systems, capturing layouts and schematics using CAD software.
2. Work on low-volume, innovative projects, ensuring variety and engagement.
3. Participate in weekly project review meetings, collaborating across different product teams.

Candidate Profile

• Team player supporting the wider design process.
• Experience as an electronics, electrical, or mechatronics design engineer.
• Educational background: HND, Time Served Engineer, BTEC Level 4, HNC, or degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics, with proficiency in CAD software.
• Proven ability to select, design, and test electrical and electronic systems through calculations and simulations.
