Job summary

Jackson Hogg Ltd is seeking an Electrical & Electronic System Engineer in County Durham, United Kingdom, with a salary of £45,000-£57,000 DOE plus 10% bonus. This is a permanent, fully on-site role in the North East of England.

The role involves designing and documenting complex frameworks and systems, collaborating with mechanical, electrical and software engineers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer, with bonus for Systems Engineer experience.
• Good understanding of motion control and high-accuracy motion systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and document a complete and complex framework, system, or product, coordinating with mechanical, electrical and software engineers.
• Prepare requirements documents and manage verification/validation activities.
• Define and document evolution of platforms, interfaces and inputs/outputs for system compatibility.
• Support integration of prototype tools and optimise configurations while addressing design weaknesses.
• Influence future products through architecture design used across multiple systems.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with industry standards and obtain necessary certifications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards to advise colleagues.
• Manage 3rd party contractors for specialist services such as PCB design.
• Contribute to inter-disciplinary design reviews.
• Transfer knowledge to production with calibration processes, test plans and tooling, and train teams.
