Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 3-5 years’ AutoCAD experience, preferably Revit
• Systems design experience with Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, Voice Evacuation, Gas Detection, VESDA, Access Control, CCTV
• NICET Level III certification
• Ideally, 5-10 years of systems design experience
• Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 72, NFPA-13
• Knowledge of Fire/Life Safety systems and manufacturer’s equipment
• Industrial design experience
• NICET Level IV certification or ability to obtain within 1 year

Responsibilities

We are looking for an On-Site Life Safety Systems Designer to work in Santa Clara, CA, on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, and research facilities. Responsibilities include:

• Representing the firm to clients and construction staff
• Providing design verification of contractor’s scope
• Attending progress meetings and coordinating onsite documentation
• Designing Fire Alarm Detection, Gas Management, and Security Systems using AutoCAD and Revit
• Performing calculations, applying NFPA and ICC codes, and specifying equipment
