Overview

Electrical Design Lead – Gloucestershire area. £60,000 - £65,000 per annum. We're looking for a talented Electrical Design Lead to join our Design Engineering team on a permanent contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, focused individual with a background in Electrical Engineering and experience leading electrical-biased projects. If you're passionate about innovation, modernisation, and driving engineering excellence, we'd love to hear from you.

As an Electrical Design Lead, you'll report to the Head of Design Engineering and initially manage one direct report—with plans to expand the team in the future. You'll play a critical role in delivering high levels of electrical engineering competence, modernising processes, and introducing innovative solutions to improve business performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of in-house technical solutions.
• Oversee testing and implementation plans for electrical projects.
• Drive engineering design projects, innovations, and solutions both centrally and locally.
• Identify opportunities to enhance in-house manufacturing capability for engineering design projects.
• Champion new processes to boost innovation, in-house capability, and team development.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve reliability in existing automation fleets.
• Lead, inspire, and energise a team of technical experts to deliver high performance.

About You

• Experience in detailed product design and development within an automated environment.
• A strong engineering background with proven problem-solving and solution delivery skills.
• CAD/CAM software proficiency, with AutoDesk or Eplan experience.
• The ability to meet product development deadlines and quality targets.
• A track record of delivering improvements and initiatives in challenging environments.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent leadership skills to inspire and guide technical teams.
