Job summary

Arup in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Engineer to deliver electrical design across water and energy projects in Manchester and other UK locations. You will work with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to develop sustainable solutions, ensuring quality, timelines and budgets are met.

The role invites mid- to senior-level engineers to contribute to design, instrumentation and control systems, and to advance CDM-compliant practices while progressing toward professional registration

Qualifications

  • Strong background in electrical design for Water and/or Energy sectors.
  • Ability to produce and interpret detailed design documentation and drawings.
  • Experience with Trimble and other industry-standard design tools.
  • Exposure to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Senior candidates: experience managing multidisciplinary projects and knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Mid-level candidates: willingness to learn and develop technical and leadership skills.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline; professional registration (IEng/CEng) or working towards it.

Opportunity

We’re looking for talented Electrical Engineers across locations such as Manchester, Whitehaven, Leeds, Glasgow and White haven with strong experience across both the Water and Energy sectors to join our growing team. Whether you’re an experienced leader ready to take on strategic responsibilities or a mid-level professional eager to develop, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to winning and delivering projects across the UK in Water and En regy.

You’ll collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, sustainable solutions, while supporting project delivery to meet quality, timeline, and budget expectations. The role offers exposure to a wide range of projects, including water treatment, water distribution, wastewater systems, as well as renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, and energy storage) and industrial infrastructure. You will apply and grow your knowledge of electrical and control systems design, CDM regulations, and relevant industry tools.
