Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking an experienced Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer for a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in Birmingham. The role focuses on building services design for commercial, industrial, retail, residential and education sectors with opportunity to mentor junior staff.

You will conduct site surveys, perform design calculations, prepare drawings, write specifications and reports, and manage project teams while liaising with clients and other design

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of building services consultancy design experience.
• Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, etc.
• Professional membership (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).

Responsibilities

• Complete survey work and site inspections.
• Undertake design calculations using various methods, from hand calculations to software-based modelling.
• Prepare drawn information and write technical specifications and reports.
• Peer review and check design information prepared by others.
• Manage a project-specific team of engineers and their workload.
• Manage commercial aspects including income and costs.
• Maintain client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
