Job summary

WGM Engineering, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Technical & Design team in Glasgow. The role offers hybrid working and a 9‑day fortnight with every second Friday off, supporting multidisciplinary projects from concept to construction.

You will develop electrical design solutions across utilities, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors, collaborating with Mechanical, Process, Civil and ICA teams to deliver safe, buildable solutions.

Qualifications

Experience delivering electrical design within engineering, infrastructure, utilities or similar environments.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

Develop client concepts and convert them into practical electrical design solutions.
Produce LV electrical designs, calculations, schedules, and SLDs.
Carry out cable sizing and electrical calculations per BS 7671 using specialist software.
Support selection and specification of transformers, generators, switchgear and MCCs.
Conduct site surveys to gather information for design development.
Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines.
Assist in instrumentation, control and automation interfaces.
Participate in design and technical reviews and client meetings.
Ensure compliance with standards and CDM 2015.
