Job summary

HVSS - High Voltage Systems & Services Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer to produce compliant electrical designs and technical drawings for high voltage projects. You will work to industry and company standards, with emphasis on value engineering and margin control.

The role requires experience with 11kV designs across multiple DNO regions and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, project managers and site teams. Office-based in the UK with standard hours.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in an electrical discipline is required.
• Experience with 11kV and LV design to a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of design processes across multiple DNO regions.
• Ability to communicate design requirements to clients, Project Managers and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce compliant designs in line with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Apply ENA, DNO & IDNO G81 design standards and recommendations.
• Process job-specific cost estimates for variations/contract changes.
• Authorize project spends within DOAG limits.
• Promote value engineering and better ways of working within the team.
• Follow company policies and H&S procedures in design work.
• Ensure designs are buildable and align with project financials.
• Escalate problems promptly to minimise business exposure.
