Electrical Design Engineer (EC&I) - Submarines

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer - Services to join Rolls-Royce Submarines. You will work as part of a team consisting of mechanical, systems, and EC&I engineers, utilizing support from other functions around the Submarines Business as needed. Components and systems delivered to the dockyard support the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) during maintenance periods.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all design tasks from initial scoping and conceptual design to safety documentation and procurement support.
  • Produce technical reports and manuals to high standards.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with cost, specifications, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop detailed plans and estimates.

Candidate profile:

  • Experience in project or technical coordination within service, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
  • Design experience in electrical controls and instrumentation, with an understanding of electrical design principles.
  • Knowledge of the complete design process from scoping to delivery.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional development and experience.
  • Experience related to submarine NSRP is preferred.
