Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

Location: Liverpool / Manchester / Leeds

Hours: 9am–17:30pm

Type: Permanent/Rolling Contract

Rate: Circa £35 per hour (negotiable)

Start: Flexible – we’ll work around you

Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (Mid-Senior Level of Experience) to join a building services consultancy delivering a wide range of projects – residential, commercial, education and industrial projects, with a special focus on high-rise.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and design electrical systems for a variety of building projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
2. Work on projects from estimation stage through to Stage 5.
3. Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate electrical designs into overall project plans.

Requirements:

1. Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
2. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
3. Experience running your own projects.
4. Proven experience in electrical design within the building services industry.
5. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building regulations.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
8. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Professional membership or working towards membership with a relevant engineering institution is advantageous.
