Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the Power Utilities and Energy sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in 33kv to 132kv systems. This is a permanent role, offering the flexibility of working three days per week in the office, providing a great balance between professional engagement and personal time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems with a focus on 33kv to 132kv
• Utilise AutoCAD to draft and design electrical diagrams and schematics
• Integrate Independent Connection Provider (ICP) principles into energy projects
• Implement Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar technologies into designs
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project success
• Perform technical assessments and provide solutions for power distribution projects
• Provide training and support for developing high voltage (up to 132kv) systems as required
• Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in electrical design engineering, particularly within the power utilities and energy sector
• Proficiency in designing systems within the 33kv to 132kv range
• Strong working knowledge of ICP practices and BESS technologies
• Experience with Solar energy systems
• Ability to use AutoCAD for designing and drafting electrical systems
• Excellent problem–solving and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification
