Job summary

HVSS - High Voltage Systems & Services Ltd in the UK seeks a Design Engineer to produce designs and technical drawings for high voltage projects, ensuring compliance with ENA, DNO/IDNO standards and company policies. You will work to deliver high‑quality designs and maintain gross margins as needed.

The role requires a HND or degree in electrical discipline and 11kV/LV design experience, with the ability to communicate design requirements to clients, project managers and site teams.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in electrical discipline is required.
• Experience designing 11kV and LV systems to high quality.
• Knowledge of ENA, DNO & IDNO G81 design standards and multi‑region processes.
• Able to communicate design requirements to clients, PMs and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce compliant designs in line with customer requirements and standards.
• Apply ENA, DNO & IDNO G81 design standards and recommendations.
• Process job‑specific cost estimates for variations and contract changes.
• Authorize project spends within DOAG limits.
• Promote value engineering and better ways of working.
• Follow company policies and BMS guidance.
• Ensure designs meet NERS accreditation requirements.
• Ensure drawings are buildable and align with project finances.
• Escalate problems promptly to minimise exposure.
