This role focuses on full lifecycle electronics engineering, supporting projects from initial concept and documentation through detailed design, test, verification, manufacturing support, and in service issue resolution. We are seeking an engineer with strong analogue/digital/power circuit design skills, ideally from aerospace or another highly regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, defence, rail). Naval design experience would be beneficial for this particular role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end to end electronics design lifecycle, from concept and requirements through production and in service support.

  • Define and document electronics requirements, design plans, and specifications.

  • Design analogue and digital circuits, progressing concepts through to complete PCB layouts and full manufacturing drawing packs.

  • Produce all supporting design, verification, and test documentation required for certification and manufacturing.

  • Participate in and contribute to design reviews, clearly communicating technical content to both technical and non technical stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality processes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Work closely with internal manufacturing teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth new product introduction, including PCB build, assembly, test, and system integration.

  • Provide expert technical support for manufacturing issues and in service investigations across the product range.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Electronics design experience within aerospace or another highly regulated sector (e.g., nuclear, rail).

  • Strong understanding of electronics design principles and industry best practices.

  • Proficient in low power digital circuit design.

  • Solid understanding of low frequency analogue interface design.

  • Experience using industry standard ECAD tools (Mentor Graphics preferred).

  • Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) methodologies.

  • Familiarity with EMC design and qualification requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Desirable

  • PCB layout experience

Work Hours

  • 37hrs per week minimum. Standard core hours: 09:00–16:00 Monday–Thursday, 09:00–12:00 on Friday, with some flexibility.
