Qualifications

• Ability to manage multiple project requirements.
• Some experience in Mechanical and C&I engineering disciplines preferred.

Job description

Permanent Hybrid role in our Cheltenham or Mortlake, London SW14 office.

Belcan is recruiting an electrical design engineer to assist the existing engineering team with a new project to be run out of our London and Cheltenham office. The role will initially involve brownfield design solutions for upgrades to an existing gas compressor site in the UK. Minimal travel to the gas site will be required.

As the design engineer, you will be expected to participate in all aspects of design and design review as part of an engineering team. HV knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Typical activities may include:

• Design Review
• Basis of Design and Philosophies
• Load List
• Cable calculations, schedule, and drawings
• MCC panel design
• Junction Box schedule and drawings
• Equipment specification and data sheets
• IS, Heat, and Power calculations
• Lighting, Small Power, and Telecom design
• SLD and Electrical Distribution design
• Responsible for electrical aspects of project delivery including technical and quality compliance

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Electrical Engineering experience
• Minimum 2 years' within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemicals, Cryogenic Pipeline, Manufacturing, Process or Gas Compression
• Ability to multi–task and manage multiple project requirements simultaneously
• Ability to perform individually and as part of a team
• Technical qualification to HND or Degree level (e.g. Electrical Engineering)

Preferred:

• Basic experience of Mechanical and C&I engineering disciplines.
• Experienced in working to CDM regulations.
• Experience on Top Tier COMAH sites
• Ability to draw on a range of project management skills, tools and approaches.
• City & Guilds Wiring Regs certified (2381, 2382)
• Experience in Electrical system modelling software such as Amtech / ProDesign
