Job description

Adept Resourcing is delighted to partner with our esteemed client, a leader in innovative engineering solutions, to recruit a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead cutting–edge electrical design projects in a collaborative and forward–thinking environment.



Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design process from concept to detailed design and project delivery.

  • Produce and review technical documentation, including electrical schematics, SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, P&IDs, I/O schedules, layouts, and calculations.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, software, and project engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., BS7671, IEC) and client specifications.

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.



Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design, preferably in building services or manufacturing sectors.

  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar.

  • Strong expertise in designing LV power and distribution systems.

  • In–depth knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.



Working Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am–4:00pm; Friday, 7:30am–1:00pm.

  • Closed for Bank Holidays and an annual Christmas shutdown until after the New Year.
