Qualifications

  • Produce design documentation, including functional design specs.
  • Generate detailed design documents such as electrical schematics.
  • Liaise with Purchasing to prepare RFQs and technical specifications.
  • Support Production with technical queries and documentation.
  • Carry out factory acceptance testing and site commissioning.
  • Compile project close-out documents including O&M manuals.

Location: Stockton - on - Tees


Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm

An established and growing electrical and automation engineering business, operating within the marine, renewable energy, and offshore sectors, is seeking experienced Electrical Design Engineers to join their Teesside-based team.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full project lifecycle - from initial concept through to commissioning and final documentation - delivering engineered solutions for global projects.

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer


Location: Stockton - on - Tees


Salary: £50,000 - £60,000


Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm

An established and growing electrical and automation engineering business, operating within the marine, renewable energy, and offshore sectors, is seeking experienced Electrical Design Engineers to join their Teesside-based team.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full project lifecycle - from initial concept through to commissioning and final documentation - delivering engineered solutions for global projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce design documentation, including functional design specs, FAT/SIT/SAT procedures, and basis of design.

  • Generate detailed design documents such as electrical schematics, GA drawings, cabinet/panel layouts, I/O lists, 3D models, BoMs, cause & effect matrices, and FMECA.

  • Liaise with Purchasing to prepare RFQs and technical specifications.

  • Support Production with technical queries and as-built documentation.

  • Carry out factory acceptance testing and site commissioning where required.

  • Compile project close-out documents including O&M manuals and spare parts lists.


Skills & Experience:
  • Proficiency in E-Plan, 3D modelling, and simulation platforms.

  • Experience designing systems from concept through to commissioning, including PLC/SCADA, power generation/distribution, and variable speed drives.

  • Background in marine and offshore/subsea systems is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with control and automation software is an advantage.

  • Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications.


Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified in Electrical, Marine, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
