Job summary

Time Recruitment Solutions Limited in Rochdale seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading North West electrical contractor. This permanent, office-based role offers £40,000–£50,000 per year and exposure to diverse commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

You will manage projects from initial client brief through to detailed electrical designs and drawings, using AutoCAD and CAD software, collaborating with clients, project managers and installation teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer.
• Strong electrical background with contracting environments.
• NVQ Level 4 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to discuss project requirements, specifications and electrical design solutions.
• Conduct site surveys and attend customer meetings as required.
• Produce detailed electrical designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients.
• Update and modify drawings in line with client feedback and project requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with current industry regulations and standards.
• Liaise with project managers, estimators and site teams throughout project delivery.
• Support projects through all stages, from design through to installation and handover.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Rochdale. The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects from initial client consultation through to completed electrical designs and technical drawings. Working closely with clients, project managers, estimators, and installation teams, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients to discuss project requirements, specifications, and electrical design solutions

• Producing detailed electrical designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software
• Preparing and presenting design proposals to clients
• Updating and modifying drawings in line with client feedback and project requirements
• Ensuring all designs comply with current industry regulations and standards
• Liaising with project managers, estimators, and site teams throughout project delivery
• Supporting projects through all stages, from design through to installation and handover

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
• Strong electrical background with experience in electrical installation or contracting environments
• NVQ Level 4 in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
• Strong AutoCAD/CAD design experience
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and client requirements
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• Experience working for an electrical contractor or subcontractor
• Knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems
• Experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle
