Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to work on water industry projects in the North West. You will deliver electrical and ICA design deliverables across AMP8/AMP9 programmes, including single line diagrams, P&IDs, schedules and reports, while supporting feasibility and detailed design.
You will develop expertise in LV/MV distribution and ICA architecture, lead technical tasks in workshops and HAZOPs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Electrical Design Engineer - Water Industry - North West - Salary Dependant on Experience
Delivering AMP8 and AMP9 wastewater programmes across the UK. Day-to-day, you will produce electrical and instrumentation/control & automation (ICA) design deliverables, calculations, single line and system architecture diagrams, P&IDs, schedules, reports and drawings, while supporting feasibility through detailed design for programmes that address flooding and pollution. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, modellers and data analysts, contributing to frameworks and projects ranging from small works to multi‑million-pound packages, liaising with clients, contractors and project managers to meet programme milestones and quality standards.
In the short term, you will develop technical competence in LV/MV distribution, load assessments and ICA architecture while contributing to live AMP projects. Over the medium term, you will take increasing responsibility for complex design packages, lead technical tasks in workshops and HAZOPs, and broaden your CDM Designer inputs.
Expected: degree in electrical engineering or closely allied subject (IET‑accredited preferred). Desirable: relevant industry training in ICA/SCADA, CDM, or water sector process modules.
Role based in the UK with hybrid working; typical attendance 2-3 days per week in the office and travel to operational sites as required. Flexible arrangements are considered to support delivery and wellbeing.
