A UK–based engineering services company is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its growing team in Peterborough. The role involves end–to–end design of panel and field installations for automated control systems across industrial sites nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design panel layouts, schematics, and LV distribution systems.
• Produce PLC wiring diagrams, I/O schedules, and instrument loop diagrams.
• Conduct safety circuit design and risk assessments (BS EN ISO 13849/60261).
• Create technical documentation and support on–site commissioning.
• Liaise with project and site teams to meet deadlines safely and effectively.

Requirements:

• HNC/BTEC/NVQ3 in Electrical Engineering.
• 18th Edition qualified.
• 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally in industrial or FMCG environments.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Amtech (or similar).
• Strong understanding of PLC wiring, instrumentation, and safety systems.
• Confident in troubleshooting large control panels and machinery.
