  • Experience in specification, design, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Skilled in producing complex electrical schematics and general arrangement drawings.

Electrical Design Engineer

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team at Lintott, a Galliford Try business.

Reporting to the Technical Director, the role of the Electrical Design Engineer is to:

  1. Develop and implement cost-effective controls solutions for projects that meet customer needs, legislation, and budget.
  2. Stay updated on technological advancements and implement proven technologies to benefit the business.
  3. Be responsible for detailed design, specification, implementation, FAT testing of control solutions.
  4. Support sales in developing robust, cost-effective controls solutions.
  5. Proactively value engineer solutions, identify alternative materials, scope change opportunities, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  6. Attend design reviews and submit designs for approval.
  7. Be on-site for successful hardware commissioning and SAT testing of control solutions.
  8. Work within Lintott Control Systems procedures and formats.
  9. Liaise with departments upon receipt of orders and attend handover meetings.
  10. Maintain positive relationships with departments to ensure technical standards are used for future projects.
  11. Assist in internal process development, waste reduction, and maintaining filing systems.
  12. Support the team during holidays and sickness.
  13. Perform any other duties as agreed with management.

About You:

  • + years of relevant experience in electrical hardware design, including MCC, switchgear, control panels, and LV distribution/installations.
  • Experience working in a Systems Integration Environment, collaborating with Software Engineers to develop FDS.
  • Experience in specification, design, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
  • Knowledge of BS EN standards.
  • Qualified to the 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Skilled in producing complex electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, and BOM.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
