Job description

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working as part of a design team delivering detailed designs
  • Proven experience in electrical design within a consultancy or similar environment, including a strong portfolio of delivered projects
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, Building Regulations)
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation tools (e.g., Electrical-OM, Amtech, Dialux)
  • Designing site-specific equipment as required
  • Liaising closely with other design professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
  • Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in various buildings and sites, aiming to minimize environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possess an accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification and experience in a similar role
  • Ideally chartered or working towards chartered engineer status with a suitable institution
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex issues between clients and project teams
  • Willingness to learn, with high diligence and organizational skills
